Dr. Sheila Jenkins earned a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia and completed post doctoral training at the Houston Veterans Administration Hospital. While providing specialized mental health services to veterans from all war eras, she developed expertise in trauma psychology. Since beginning her practice in 1993, Dr. Jenkins has soared to become one of the most highly regarded psychologists in Houston. In 2007, Dr. Jenkins was recognized as one of the most accomplished Americans in the 61st Edition of Marquis Who's Who in America. Known around the world, Marquis Who's Who in America is hailed as the premier publisher of biographical information on the most accomplished individuals in the nation. In 2009, Dr. Jenkins was honored as one of the most talented and dedicated African Americans in the third edition of Who's Who in Black Houston. Notably, Dr. Jenkins has trained more than 100 doctoral psychology interns, and she has profound humility to be a highly sought after mentor in the field of psychology and leadership. Because of her commitment to community service, she takes time to give back by making a significant contribution to society.

In her practice as a psychologist, Dr. Jenkins strives to help individuals improve their quality of life by developing effective coping skills to manage stressors. The mission of her practice is to promote emotional well-being for those who wish to address problems that impact their life. By having the courage to make meaningful change, a person can take the first step to discovering their ability to create a less stressful life.

Brief or short term counseling is available for individuals who are in crisis or experiencing an acute psychological problem. Long term counseling is also available for those who wish to explore more severe or complex issues. Either treatment option will lead to positive change in the person's life.
